The Value of Errors in Design: Learning from Experimentation with Linotype and Bicycles
Recently, I decided to return to linotype, a technique I learned over 20 years ago, to create posters celebrating the beauty of bicycles. Despite my vague memories and a few mistakes along the way, I soon realized that failure is a fundamental part of design. After researching and experimenting with different materials, I understood that every mistake is an opportunity to improve and discover new solutions. This project has been a lesson in patience and perseverance, showing how manual work and experimentation are essential to creating authentic art. In the end, the best designs are born from trial, error, and, above all, continuous learning.
